Clear aligner technology has come a long way over the years! Clear aligners give you a clear, convenient, and comfortable option to achieve the smile you’ve always wanted.

 

Clear aligners move your teeth little by little. Each custom-fit aligner is worn for 1-2 weeks before being replaced by the next in the series until the final position of your teeth is achieved.

 

Aligners are convenient for many reasons: you don’t need to visit our office quite as often, you can take them out to brush and floss easily, there are no food restrictions, they’re comfortable, and they’re very esthetic. However, for best results, you must be willing to wear them nearly full time: 22 hours per day, only removing them to eat, brush, and floss.

 

Nearly all patients who use clear aligners need “attachments” placed on their teeth, which act as a handle to grip the tooth and move it in the desired direction.

 

Many patients who use clear aligners need “interproximal reduction,” or slenderizing, between some of their teeth to make room for crowded teeth. This involves removing minimal outer enamel – it is not painful and does not increase the risk of cavities or gum disease.
